Tamara Diederichs-Tivey
My deep appreciation for nature and a strong creative vision guides my art-making process. Each medium I work in is inspired by nature, unfolding organically, and results in creations that feel authentic and deeply connected to the natural world. Nature offers an endless array of sights, sounds, textures, and colors that ignite my creativity.
Encaustic is an ancient painting technique that involves using heated beeswax, damar resin and colored pigments. This medium allows me to create vibrant, textured layers by applying the molten wax to a surface and manipulating it while it's warm. The process of encaustic painting not only enhances the colors but also adds a unique depth and luminosity to the artwork.
